Swan Hill Aged Care
Swan Hill Aged Care is a green field site with new 90 bedsits, offices, common areas, kitchen and laundry. The design was driven by a desire to retain small 15 beds residential clusters, but maintain staff efficiencies from a services and clinical perspective.
Long corridors have been avoided, with bedrooms close to local lounge / dining areas. As a result, each bedroom cluster feels more like a large house than an institutional development.
A larger scaled primary spine has been provided to hold the whole development together and provide legibility. This major activity spine will provide services and activities not only for the residents of the aged care but also for visitors and the wider community with café, bar, physio, hairdresser, craft and so on.
