Ashleigh
Lodge

Ashleigh Lodge involved the upgrade of an existing 40-bed residential aged care facility into a 5 star 62 bed extra service home. The existing two storey Victorian residence was restored and additional new wings were added at the rear, together with a new basement to house the car park. In a sensitive residential area of Brighton, an up market suburb of Melbourne, a design was developed that achieved a contextual relationship with the surrounding environment, but also managed to provide the functional and lifestyle needs of the residents.

Due to the constraints of a tight site, the basement was also utilised for primary service activities such as kitchen and laundry, resulting in a compact and highly efficient plan layout.
